Govt. is going to
introduce CCTNS (Crime Criminal Tracking Network System), which shall help Police
Stations to maintain proper records. Govt. has roped in Wipro to develop dedicated
software.
The main benefits
of the system will be:
(i)
All the police station shall be
connected through this Software.
(ii)
FIR and Daily diary shall be written
by using automatic Software.
(iii) It will help Police Station to
maintain dedicated file, according to the nature of crime, arrest made in a
particular case etc.
(iv)
It will reduce burden on police
force,
(v) It will reduce time and effort in
collecting information from other Police Stations, as information will be
available online for other Police Stations through Software.
In near future
it is also proposed to connect Courts, which will help Police to submit Daily
Diary/Copy of FIR and other online to the Courts. Also proposed is to connect
CBI, IB, NIA and Passport office through this Software.
